Description
One of a kind Inanga Jade Toki. Inanga Pounamu, nephrite jade. The name “Inanga” directly translates to “whitebait” in Māori, referring to the small freshwater fish that the stone’s colour and translucence mimic. It is believed to carry the mauri (life force) of the land and the people who have touched it. The Inanga Pounamu was sourced on whanau (family) land in the Nelson/Marlborough rohe (area).
Toki directly translates to adze. Toki are essential tools for Māori and are used for wood working, tattoo and ceremony, represent strength, knowledge and completion.
