Kahurangi Jade Roimata Earrings
Kahurangi Nephrite (Greenstone) is considered one of the rarest varieties of jade and is harvested in the Arahura Awa (river) West Coast, South Island, New Zealand. Kahurangi pounamu, meaning “precious possession” or “treasured” reflecting the stone’s high value in Māori culture. These Kahurangi Roimata are very translucent with vivid tones of emerald green.
“Roimata” directly translate to “tears” or “tear drop” in Māori reo. The Roimata is believed to attract positive energy and good fortune, offering comfort and strength and is a symbol of healing, empathy and connection to the whenua (land).
