Inanga nephrite jade is a variety of New Zealand greenstone (pounamu) named after the native inanga fish (whitebait), characterized by its pearly white to pale green and in this case chromite, often resembling the young whitebait. It is a treasured taonga (treasure) in Māori culture.

Porowhita” is a circle and in Māori culture, the porowhita is a powerful symbol for the never-ending cycle of life and nature, representing continuous renewal, interconnectedness, and the infinite journey of existence.
